Contest Winners:
The following artists have placed in my first drawing contest, which
tasked them to draw any of my original characters as they see
fit. There were a TON of beautiful entries from numerous talented artists,
but these three stood above and beyond for many reasons.
So congratulations you three awesome wonderful jerks! <333 And thanks to everyone who has entered ^^
The contest was a bigger success than I anticipated, and I owe it to each
and every one of you.

1st Place goes to Chpi
There are soooooo many things I love about this piece by Chpi.
But I should start by saying that she took the time to do something
that I NEVER do. And that's creating a comprehensive character model
sheet! I'm sure all of you know I love designing characters, but
never have I done so with the sort of technical presentation you
see here. In fact, if you look at most of my characters you'll notice
that the designs keep changing, and some aspects of them are completely
unclear. But in the case of *Chpi's entry, she took something like the
backside of Cecelia (and her undone hair, AND her sword) and drew them
the best way possible while holding true to her overall theme.
Thanks so much for spending the incredible amount of time that you did
on this Chpi. You took 1st place by leaps and bounds!

2nd Place goes to Neolucky
If there's anything I love more than seeing my characters drawn on model,
it's seeing them characterized on model. By that I mean, Neolucky's
version of Samade is SO incredibly stylized that there is no doubt it
was drawn by her. But at the same time it's so incredibly true to Samade's
personality/ design/ and leggy proportions that there's absolutely no
doubt who the character is. And on top of it all, SHE'S SO SHINEY I LOVE
IT!!!!!! *Neolucky even remembered the little details like the ties
round her leg, the exposed wash-tag of her kimono
(drawn only once by me (I always forget it)), and the way a person's
toes tend to spread when they're pushing down on their feet while
walking. I loved this piece from the moment I saw it,
and feel so lucky that somebody as talented as Neolucky took the time
to draw one of my humble little girlies ;___;

3rd Place goes to Martel-San
There are so many reasons I keep coming back to this image of Samade.
The colors Martel-San used, the brushing technique that she's
developed, and the shine she added to Samade's skin... It's all a
sensory overload for me. Additionally it's the attention to the
smaller details. Things like the little knots on the underside of
Samade's sandals, the wrinkles in her sleeves, the fact that her hair
is so extremely well done, and especially her cute little toes. Fact
is, I looked at this image and immediately thought: "damn, I wish I
could do art like that!" Thank you so much for this entry Martel-San,
I'll love it forever. And I still want that high res version from you
darnit! Until then, >:U

Deserves honorable mention status for her absolutely
cutie-pie artwork of Samade. I love it I love it I love it
I wanna die because I love it so much. If Samade were going to
wear any kind of swimsuit, I would be this one! (and the one-piece
version... drool...) My wife keeps saying "I want that bikini!"

Deserves honorable mention status for her unbelievable creativity
with these characters cosplaying as eachother. Beyond that, they're
getting along so well together! The first time I saw this I thought
"Hey they're all mixed up. Wait a minute... they're cosplaying! *o* "

Deserves honorable mention for colors and composition.
This piece blew me away man. You've always been good at characters
and backgrounds, but holy crap dude, way to set the bar even higher
with a piece like this. I could never attempt an angle like that,
and you did it like it was nothing! I envy your mastery ;___;
GS-Dracko's Cecelia »
Deserves honorable mention for style and professionalism.
GS-Dracko took Cecelia and converted her into his style in such an
efficient manner. And like I said about Neolucky's Samade, seeing my
characters stylized on model like this is one of the coolest
things EVER.
Thanks again to everyone that entered, I loved seeing your work more than you know!
